Okanogan County father arrested in Iowa for allegedly killing his 3-month-old child

OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — An Okanogan County man was arrested in Iowa after allegedly murdering his 3-month-old infant child.

According to the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, 35-year-old Mickey Wheatley, was arrested in Iowa Falls.

The sheriff’s office said that detectives with the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Washington State Department of Corrections and the North Iowa Fugitive Task Force located Wheatley there.

Law enforcement in Iowa Falls arrested Wheatley without incident and developed probable cause to charge him with first-degree murder.

Deputies said that Wheatley is being held at the Hardin County Jail pending extradition to Washington state to face charges.

Deputies said no additional details will be released at this time due to the ongoing prosecution.
