WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, an Ohio Democrat and ex-officio trustee of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, is taking legal action against the addition of President Trump’s name to the center.
Beatty is arguing that renaming the center would require an act of Congress because legislation originally established its name and members of Congress signed it into law.
The administration had put up new signs adding the president’s name the day after trustees voted.
