SPOKANE, Wash. – Andrea Swenson, who uses a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy, is one of the many recipients of the Northwest Autism Center’s ‘Giving Tree’ initiative.
The organization is currently reaching out to the community for assistance in providing gifts for neighbors with autism or developmental disabilities.
Swenson shared her hopes for this year.
“This year I am hoping to get a new warm sweater because I love clothes. And I would also love some body lotion,” she said.
The initiative is crucial as many recipients may not have close family to provide gifts during the holiday season.
The community is encouraged to participate in this effort to bring joy to those in need.
