North America’s largest ski race relocates in Wisconsin

WISCONSIN — Warm weather led to delays and relocations for North America’s largest ski race, the American Birkebeiner, which typically draws about 40,000 people every February.

Yesterday’s Barkie Birkie, Barna Birkie and Junior Birkie events were moved to a nearby town due to snow conditions. Despite the change, crowds showed up in full force, causing slight delays in start times.

Thursday’s events demonstrated that while the course may change, the spirit of the Birkie remains strong. This is the second time in three years that events have been relocated due to snow conditions.
