EPHRATA, Wash. – Construction is progressing on the new Grant County Jail in Ephrata, a significant project designed to tackle longstanding overcrowding issues.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office shared an image online showing crews working on the front, street-facing side of the complex. This area will house all of the sheriff’s administrative offices.
County officials have confirmed that the project is on schedule, with completion anticipated by mid-2026.
The new facility will feature 512 beds, a substantial increase from the current jail, which was originally built for only 85 inmates but has been accommodating more than 188 for several years.
More photos of the construction progress are expected to be released later this week.
