
SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho – A new federal prosecutor position is set to open in North Idaho, focusing on combating drug trafficking with an emphasis on fentanyl.
Applications are currently open for the region’s first Special Assistant US Attorney. This role is designed to handle drug cases in federal court while easing the burden on local prosecutors.
The new position in North Idaho follows similar programs already in place in Boise and Pocatello. The Shoshone County-based role will handle approximately 30 cases per year.
Funding for this position will come from city, state and federal resources, ensuring comprehensive support for the initiative.
