WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. – A Navy reservist was found to be operating an unauthorized commercial drone over the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island on Tuesday.
The base command reported that the reservist launched the drone while on a break. The drone was quickly detected once it became airborne.
Special ordnance disposal personnel secured the drone, determined it was not dangerous and then disposed of it.
