
National unemployment reached 4.6% in November, the highest since 2021, according to the most recent jobs report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The report charted monthly employment trends, excluding data from October, which was not recorded due to the federal government shutdown.
National unemployment rose to 4.6% in November from 4.4% in September, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. National unemployment rates have not been above 4.5% since September 2021.
The Bureau also reported a 64,000 national increase of nonfarm payroll employment.
The report tracked an increase in health care and construction jobs, while showing a decrease in federal government jobs.
The Bureau reported 4.6% unemployment in Washington in September, 3.7% unemployment in Idaho in September and 3% unemployment in Montana in September.
