KING COUNTY, Wash. – Governor Bob Ferguson announced that the levee system in King County is under significant stress due to historic water levels and duration.

To address this, Ferguson is mobilizing 100 members of the National Guard. Fifty of these members will be dedicated to patrolling the levees, ensuring constant surveillance and safety.

“The sheer number of days and the sheer amount of water is historic,” Ferguson said.

This deployment aims to maintain safety and prevent potential flooding in the area.
