Multiple active fires prompt evacuations in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. – A wildfire northeast of Davenport continues to grow, covering nearly 3,800 acres, according to the Washington Department of Natural Resources. Evacuations remain in place as the fire threatens parts of this rural area.

Firefighting crews are on the ground, including those from Snohomish, who arrived just after 3 a.m. A firefighter shared their urgent need for more support.

“Crews are doing everything they can, but they need all hands on deck to stop this from spreading,” they said.

Level 3 and Level 2 evacuation notices are currently active as flames tear through thick brush and timber in the woods area. Multiple active fires have been reported, with some starting just minutes ago. Crews are moving quickly to protect whatever they can.

For some residents, however, it’s already too late. A man who grew up in the area shared that a cabin he once owned, along with others, has been destroyed. His friends nearby also watched as their cabins were consumed by the fire.

Firefighters continue their efforts to contain the flames, but wind and heat are making the battle increasingly difficult.
