The motorcyclist, identified as a 22-year-old from Woodbury, Minnesota, was merging onto I-90 Westbound from Sprague.
Due to excessive speed, he was unable to complete the turn causing him to crash with a barrier on the left side, Washington State Patrol said in its report of the crash.
He was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center for his injuries. There were no reports of drugs or alcohol being involved in the accident.
He has been charged with negligent driving in the second degree.
The incident involved one motorcycle, with no other vehicles or pedestrians affected.

The lane closure has been cleared, according to SRTMC.
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A crash blocked the right two lanes on the I-90 westbound near the Sprague Avenue on-ramp around 9:47 a.m., according to the Spokane Regional Transportation Management Center.
The Center said the closure would last until further notice.
Spokane Valley Fire alerted drivers of closures near the I-90 westbound Sprague off-ramp as well.
The Department asked drivers to use caution and give crews room to work safely.
