MOSES LAKE, Wash. – Samaritan Hospital‘s new campus is set to open in Moses Lake on March 7, and NonStop Local had the opportunity to tour the facility ahead of its grand opening.
The new hospital boasts modernized technology compared to the old campus, thanks to a $130 million bond approved by voters in 2023. Located on a larger 55-acre plot, the hospital is already planning for future expansions.
Theresa Sullivan, CEO of Samaritan Hospital, emphasized the need for growth in the rapidly expanding community.
“20 years to go really without an expansion in a community growing as quickly as Moses Lake is a long time. And I would expect that probably every three to five years there would be some kind of expansion,” Sullivan said.
While the new facility will maintain the same number of in-patient beds as the current hospital, it will feature enhanced emergency, surgical and specialty care departments along with an expanded maternity ward.
Construction on the hospital began in 2023 following a three-year delay during the COVID pandemic.
