MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The Moses Lake School District is actively searching for a new business manager to address its financial challenges.
The district is grappling with a $20 million budget shortfall that resulted in hundreds of teachers being laid off.
Two candidates are in consideration for the position: Rosa Dekker, the treasurer for the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District, and Ruby Perez, the director of finance at the Warden School District.
The new business manager will have significant responsibilities, overseeing staffing and managing budgets as the district navigates through its financial difficulties.
