MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The Moses Lake School District has placed a coach who also served as a substitute teacher on administrative leave after an investigation revealed inappropriate relationships with students.
In May 2025, the district received a report about a potential inappropriate relationship involving the employee and a student. The district immediately placed the employee on administrative leave and launched a comprehensive investigation. A third-party investigator was brought in, and the district worked with the Moses Lake Police Department to ensure a thorough review.
The investigation found that the employee had inappropriate relationships with at least three students. As a result, the Moses Lake School District Board of Directors took formal action to discharge the employee this evening.
The Superintendent has submitted the findings to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction in line with state law and reporting requirements.
The district emphasized its commitment to student safety, stating that all concerns are taken seriously and investigated promptly, thoroughly, and fairly. While personnel matters remain confidential, the district is dedicated to transparency and accountability.
Families and community members with concerns are encouraged to contact the Moses Lake School District.
