
MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The Moses Lake School District offered a supposal, which it shared with NonStop Local, to the on-strike Moses Lake Education Association.
The District issued a press release about its offer, calling it “comprehensive and significant.”
The supposal included the following elements:
Full restoration of 2022-2025 contracts“Equitable” distribution of all state IPD funding each year for certified instructional staff as a pass-throughRetroactive payAgreement to take no disciplinary action against employees for refusal to return district property, like keys and computers, during work stoppageCurrent tentative agreement language will be maintained, except for language changes that would result in cost increasesCompensation analysis, averaged across 500 employees

Heather Whittall, president of the Moses Lake Education Association, told NonStop Local that the district was “misrepresenting their efforts” with the new supposal, which “repackages previous proposals” and contains “harmful takebacks.”
Her full comment follows:
“The district is again misrepresenting their efforts at the bargaining table. The current supposal repackages previous proposals and still includes harmful takebacks and violates previous agreements. The MLEA bargaining team is working on responding to ensure Moses lake students and educators have stability moving forward.”
