After eight ducklings were saved by the Moses Lake firefighters, they found refuge at the station. However, they were given a new home when the Battalion Chief and his wife decided to take them in.

The ducklings were saved by the Moses Lake firefighters after being trapped in a storm drain.

The Moses Lake Firefighters announced on Facebook today that after the ducklings were brought to the station, Battalion Chief Dave Holle and his wife Christine Hall brought the ducklings back to their small farm. At the farm, the ducklings were given a warm bed, food and rehabilitation.

The post says that the Holles hope the ducks can recover enough to spread their wings and fly wild. However, they also said the ducks would be welcome to stay swimming on the farm and hanging out with their chickens and cows.

MOSES LAKE, Wash. – Moses Lake firefighters responded to an unusual call this afternoon. They rescued ducklings trapped in a storm drain.

The ducklings were in danger of being run over or getting stuck again.

Firefighters took the ducklings to the firehouse, where they are now being fed and kept warm.

The mother duck was not found, but the ducklings are safe and sound thanks to the quick response of the firefighters.
