MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The community of Moses Lake is grieving the loss of retired Police Chief Kevin Fuhr, who passed away recently.

Chief Fuhr was recognized as a symbol of professionalism and community service. He served as an exceptional role model throughout his career.

The Moses Lake Police Department along with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office expressed their grief alongside those who knew him, extending their support to his family.

Statement from Moses Lake Police Chief Dave Sands:

By now most of you know about the passing of our former Chief, mentor, friend, and MLPD family member Kevin Fuhr. It has become cliché to say, “there are no words…,” but that is how we feel and perhaps why it has taken so long to post something. Chief Fuhr was an outside chief that came to this agency full of ideas and energy, he embraced what was good, made it great, and moved this agency forward. He made the MLPD his own, truly he made us a family. You would never have guessed we only had him for seven years, the way he embraced our values and every employee, one would have believed he spent his whole career here. A truly special leader and man that did so much for this agency and our community, we will miss him every day.

A memorial service will be held on August 1st at Wallenstein Theater at 11:00 AM.
