MOSCOW, Idaho – In the aftermath of Bryan Kohberger receiving four life sentences for the murder of four University of Idaho students, the Moscow Police Department has begun sharing case files with the public. These documents provide a deeper insight into the investigation’s early days.

One document includes a statement from a surviving roommate. The roommate reported that one month before the murders, Kaylee Congalves mentioned an unknown man standing south of their house, watching her as she let her dog outside. However, there is no confirmation if this man was Kohberger.

New information also suggests Kohberger developed a sudden interest in police scanners on the morning of November 13, 2022. A Google search on his computer led to a live audio stream website called “Broadcastify,” specifically to the “Pullman Police and Fire Dispatch Live” stream.

Documents also revealed details from a police interview with one of Kohberger’s coworkers at Washington State University. The coworker, referred to as “L,” stated that he and Kohberger shared an office space as teaching assistants. “L” noted that Kohberger became more talkative around the time of the murders, describing him as “intelligent but selfish.”

“L” also observed visible scratches on Kohberger’s face and cuts on his knuckles during the time of the crimes. When questioned, Kohberger reportedly attributed the injuries to a car accident.

Additionally, a woman told police she matched with Kohberger on Tinder. They discussed a shared interest in horror movies and conversed about the worst way to die.

It is important to remember, however, that statements made to police are not always credible.
