MOSCOW, Idaho – The Moscow Police Department (MPD) is currently investigating reports of a scam led by three teenagers.
The scam involves a fraudulent campaign to raise money for a summer camp that does not exist. Moscow police received reports of three teenage males going door to door, attempting to raise donations for a summer camp they claimed was sponsored by the Palouse Prairie Charter School.
These encounters were reported on June 9 and June 10, in the area of Conestoga Street, Orchard Avenue and Panorama Street.
Authorities determined that the summer camp was made up as a way for the teenagers to fraudulently obtain money.
“Officers are specifically hoping to identify anyone who made donations to these teenage males and/or any video footage of the teenage males going door-to-door,” the MPD stated.
Anyone who was contacted by the teenagers or has additional information about the scam should contact Officer Summers at 208-883-7065 and reference case number 25-M04789.
