MOSCOW, Idaho – The Moscow Fire Department experienced its highest emergency call volume ever in 2025, according to a report from the department.
The department responded to 3,046 emergency calls throughout 2025, an increase from 3,002 calls in 2024.
Fire Chief Brian Nickerson highlighted the implications of this rise in calls, emphasizing the need for additional staffing, training and equipment to meet the community’s demands.
Nickerson praised the efforts of both volunteer and career crews, stating they continue to deliver fast and effective service.
