
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Several brush fires along the trail at Mirabeau Park appeared overnight are under investigation, according to the Spokane Valley Fire Department.
This is the second batch of fires this week at Spokane Valley’s Mirabeau Park this week. On August 12, Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to six small fires at the park, .
Spokane Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources responded to a call about the fires around midnight heading into August 14, according to Incident Commander Captain Ray Moeckel from the Spokane Valley Fire Department.
Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Office and Spokane Police Department also assisted at the scene.
After extinguishing the first fires, law enforcement found several other fires in the park, all under an acre, which firefighters were able to contain.
The fires are under investigation and are considered “very suspicious” according to Moeckel.
