AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — Two moose calves have been spotted in Airway Heights, prompting a public safety advisory from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The Airway Heights Police Department urged residents and visitors not to approach, bother or harass the animals. The calves were last seen walking west from the dog park behind the Galena Apartments.

The Department of Fish and Wildlife said that it had been monitoring the calves with their mother west of the city in recent days, but her current location is unknown.

Fish and Wildlife officials said that if the calves do not move out of the area within 24 hours, they will take steps to relocate them.

Police also advised the community to observe the calves from a distance and allow them to return to a safer environment.
