According to Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison, David Gimlett, the missing 33-year-old man from Leavenworth, was found dead on Thursday.
Since Gimlett was first reported missing on January 24, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deployed helicopter and ground search units, as well as drones, making intensive efforts to find him.
Sheriff Morrison stated that on Thursday, Chelan County Volunteer Search and Rescue members were contacting a neighborhood in search of Gimlett, when one volunteer discovered his body in Peshastin Creek.
Gimlett’s family has been notified, and the CCSO expressed gratitude to the community for providing information throughout the search efforts.

The missing man, David Gimlett, was last seen on January 23 in the evening. He was travelling on foot and was wearing black overalls, a dark blue tie dye jacket and work boots.
His last known location was in the Valley Hi area on Highway 97 near milepost 178.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information about Gimlett’s location to email the information to Sergeant Jason Reinfeld at jason.reinfeld@co.chelan.wa.us.
