Millions of Americans are now dealing with increased health insurance costs as certain Affordable Care Act subsidies have expired with the arrival of the new year.
Lawmakers did not extend the enhanced premium subsidies under Obamacare, which had previously made coverage much more affordable for many individuals.
The decision not to extend these subsidies was a key issue during the recent government shutdown and other Capitol Hill debates.
The House is anticipated to vote sometime this month on a potential three-year extension of these subsidies.
