SEATTLE, Wash. – Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has announced plans to lay off more than 100 employees from its Puget Sound offices. The announcement follows similar layoff news from Microsoft and Amazon.
The Washington State Employment Security Department reported that the layoffs are set to take effect on December 22. Meta will let go of about 23 employees from its Seattle office, 48 from Bellevue and four from Redmond. Additionally, 23 remote workers will also be laid off.
Meta stated that affected employees have been or will be notified at least 60 days prior to their scheduled termination date.
