Medical Lake to install surveillance cameras in public parks for security

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. – Medical Lake is taking steps to enhance security by installing surveillance cameras in several public parks.

Earlier this month, the City Council approved the installation of cameras in Waterfront Park, Pioneer Park, Coney Island Park and Shepherd Field.

This decision follows incidents of vandalism in the area. City Administrator Sony Weathers emphasized the benefits of the cameras.

“They provide consistent monitoring,” Weathers said.

The project will cost $75,000 and will include privacy safeguards to ensure the community’s privacy concerns are addressed.

The new surveillance system aims to deter vandalism and ensure a safer environment for park visitors.
