If an individual is experiencing symptoms of measles (high fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, rash) and believes they may have been exposed, they should contact their health care provider before visiting a clinic or emergency department in person, according to SRHD.

“Measles is a serious contagious disease, and vaccination is the way to prevent it,” said Dr. Francisco Velázquez, SRHD health officer. “I urge you to talk to your physician, talk to your pediatrician, and get your family and children the MMR vaccine as soon as possible.”
