SPOKANE, WASH- As the Mariners make their historic run Mayor Lisa Brown is issuing support from the second biggest city in the State of Washington!
She issued a letter early Thursday asking for fans to get to go home early from work!
It reads:
An Official Request (Sort Of)
To all residents, employers, and die-hard Mariners fans,
As mayor of the City of Spokane, I am writing to kindly request an optional leave of absence of all employees wishing to cheer on the Seattle Mariners. Consider it an act of civic pride and a well-earned break to witness history in the making.
Employers are strongly encouraged to show flexibility and team spirit, whether that is the option to work remotely, take a delayed lunch, or leave the office a few minutes early to catch the first pitch.
M’s fans surely know, playoff baseball does not come around every day. So, grab your rally towel, find a TV, and let’s make some noise.
Go Mariners!
Sincerely,
Lisa Brown
The Mariners play tonight at T-Mobile Park in Seattle at 5:33 p.m.
