
SPOKANE, Wash. – Skeletal remains found in a Spokane homeless camp in April have been determined to belong to a suspected killer.
The Okanogan County Sheriff Office reports that DNA from the remains were uploaded into Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) to try and identify who they belonged to, and a match was .
Dental records for Dylan Harrington were obtained, and detectives met with Dylan Harrington’s mother and brother, who both gave DNA samples before the remains were positively identified.
“The multiple year manhunt for Harrington is over. The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office wishes to thank all of the agencies that were involved in this investigation, the media cooperation, Televised stories and those who provided tips. Our greatest hope is that the Covey family can move forward with some sense of closure. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers,” the Okanogan County Sheriff Office shared in a news release.
The daughter of Debbie, Dave Covey sent this statement to NonStop Local:
“While we are relieved that Dylan’s body was found, we still have many questions that may never be answered, until then can we truly find peace. We, too, are also so thankful for the years of support from family, friends and the community!”
