Man sentenced in Spokane for murdering homeless man

SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane man received more than 10 years in prison for a violent crime that happened in 2021.

According to court documents, Aaron Holder, 22, was sentenced after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. This stems from an incident in June 2021.

The victim, Justin Combs, 34, was reportedly asleep in a sleeping bag outside the Intermodal Center when the attack occurred.

Surveillance footage captured Holder approaching Combs and repeatedly throwing a 51-pound rock at his head.

Holder was not arrested for the crime until January of the previous year.
