SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Fire District 8 (SCFD8) rescued a man after he was stuck in the mud for several hours in the Saltese Flats area.
The man, who was fishing in a pond, managed to alert some young anglers nearby, who then called 911 for help, SCFD8 said in a release.
Firefighters quickly responded and hiked into the area, equipped with necessary gear.
A utility task vehicle (UTV) was also dispatched to transport additional equipment and personnel if needed.
Using life safety ropes and stable ground, firefighters successfully reached and removed the man from the swampy area, SCFD8 said.
