SPOKANE, Wash. – Nicholas Newell, a man born on Christmas Day, decided to follow in the footsteps of the most famous “Nicholas” and spread joy through his nonprofit, the Saint Nicholas Christmas Foundation. The foundation buys presents for people in assisted living who have no living family members.

It also provides teddy bears for children’s hospitals and first responders to distribute during incidents involving kids.

Nicholas’s mother, Pamela Newell, shared insights into her son’s dedication.

“He’s taken his birthday and made it something special. And he doesn’t enjoy his birthday. He works. So I went to visit him a couple of years ago on his birthday, and he put me to work, and it was not a lot of downtime,” Pamela said.

Since its inception in 2018, the foundation has expanded its reach to six states and continues to grow.
