Man arrested in Oregon for killing woman in Pasco

PASCO, Wash. – Pasco Police Officers responded to a 911 call early on July 23 at a home near 20th and Marie, where a woman was reported shot. Officers found Lupita Ponce-Penaloza deceased upon arrival.

Through investigation, an arrest warrant for murder in the second degree was issued for the suspect. Law enforcement agencies worked together over several days to track him down. The suspect was arrested outside Pendleton, Oregon, late Friday night into Saturday morning.

Pasco Police Department expressed gratitude for the collective effort from multiple agencies, including the Pasco Fire Department, Kennewick Police Department, and Richland Police Department Street Crimes Unit, among others.
