Spokane, WASH. –UPDATE AT 12:15 p.m.: Our reporter on the scene, Derek Strom, says the suspect has been detained and Market Street has reopened.

Police say a man armed with a knife has barricaded himself inside his car at a Zip’s parking lot near the intersection of N. Market Street and E. Euclid Avenue. Bridgeport to Euclid is closed. The SWAT team is on scene.
Market is closed in both directions as police attempt to talk with the man.
SPD is asking the public to stay away from the area.
