SPOKANE, Wash. – A man appeared in court on Thursday after reportedly leading police on a high-speed pursuit through Spokane.
David Nieman, 35, according to court documents, had a felony warrant for his arrest for escaping from the Department of Corrections.
Court documents detailed that on July 27, police attempted to stop Nieman during a routine patrol. However, Nieman took off, reaching speeds more than twice that of the police car.
Police observed him disregarding traffic rules and weaving recklessly through traffic.
Nieman is currently held at the Spokane County Jail on a $10,000 bond under supervision by the Department of Corrections. His arraignment is set for August 12.
