
SPOKANE, Wash. – A man accused of hitting someone with his car and then fleeing the scene made his first court appearance.
Adam Stauffer, 28, is facing injury hit-and-run charges following an incident that occurred on Thursday. According to court documents, Stauffer is accused of hitting a man who was crossing the street at an unmarked crosswalk on South Stevens Street.
After the collision, Stauffer reportedly drove away, parked the car and ran off on foot. The victim suffered severe injuries, including facial and vertebrate fractures and a substantial head laceration.
Police eventually contacted and arrested Stauffer. He was already facing drug and theft-related charges at the time of the incident.
Stauffer is scheduled to return to court for his arraignment on July 22.
