NEW YORK — Luigi Mangione’s federal murder trial in the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson is set to begin with jury selection in September.
The trial’s schedule, including opening statements and testimony, will depend on a U.S. District Judge’s decision on whether prosecutors can seek the death penalty.
Mangione has pleaded not guilty to both federal and state murder charges. The trial date for the state charges has not yet been scheduled.
