Lower Snake River Dams study invites public feedback at open houses

COLFAX, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is inviting the public to join a series of open houses in June to discuss the ongoing Lower Snake River Dams Transportation Study.

These events will be held in Colfax, Pasco, and Clarkston, offering community members a chance to learn about potential impacts if the dams are removed.

The study, now in its second year, was initiated by the Washington State Legislature in 2023. It aims to analyze how the transportation system, including highways, roads, freight, and rail infrastructure, would change without the dams.

The open houses, scheduled for June 23 in Colfax, June 24 in Pasco, and June 25 in Clarkston, are designed as drop-in events. They will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Whitman County Library, Mid-Columbia Libraries Pasco branch, and Clarkston High School Library, respectively.

Community members are encouraged to participate and provide their feedback on the ongoing study.
