IDAHO-MONTANA BORDER – Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area announced it will be closed this weekend due to heavy rainfall and warmer temperatures.
The area recorded nearly 8 inches of rain over the past week, presenting challenges that the team couldn’t overcome, according to the announcement.
“Our team gave everything they had striving to get the mtn in good enough shape for Sat. & Sun. BUT Old Man Winter dashed those hopes,” the announcement said.
While Lookout Pass is closed, the Historic Lodge, gift shop and processing offices will be open on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The announcement encouraged visitors to support local mountain communities by visiting other ski areas’ lodges, enjoying a meal, or shopping for gifts.
