LEWISTON, Idaho – St. Joseph Regional Medical Center has lifted a precautionary lockdown that was put in place overnight after threats were made by a patient’s family member.
Hospital officials said the lockdown was taken as a precaution to protect patients, staff, and visitors. Law enforcement helped monitor the situation, which was described as domestic-related and isolated.
At no time was there a direct threat to the hospital or surrounding community, officials said.
The hospital has now returned to normal operations, and all appointments and services are running as usual.
“We thank our staff, patients, and visitors for their cooperation and patience,” hospital officials said in a statement. “Safety remains our top priority.”
