WASHINGTON – An outbreak of Listeria, which has caused the deaths of three people and led to one pregnancy loss, has been connected to recalled heat-and-eat chicken products. These products, specifically chicken fettuccine Alfredo, were sold at Kroger and Walmart, according to the USDA.
The outbreak, which began last August, has affected at least 17 people across 13 states. Consumers are urged to check their refrigerators for these products.
Recalls involve products under names like Home Chef and Market Side, which were manufactured before June 17. The CDC advises that these items should be discarded immediately.
