LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – Liberty Lake Police officers were dispatched on Friday after a report of a stolen vehicle near East Appleway Avenue and East Hawkstone Loop.
Officers located the car near E Appleway Avenue and North Molter Road. They attempted a high-risk traffic stop. The suspect, identified as Dylan Faught, accelerated away, leading to a brief pursuit that ended due to heavy traffic.
The vehicle was later found at the state line, exiting I-90. Officers attempted another traffic stop, but Faught fled into Gateway Park. He abandoned the vehicle and ran on foot along the Spokane River.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Department, Washington State Patrol and Spokane Police Department assisted with drones and K9 units. After nearly two hours, less lethal chemical agents were used, leading Faught to surrender.
Faught was taken into custody for possession of a stolen vehicle, attempting to elude a police vehicle and obstructing a law enforcement officer. He also faced local warrants for possession of a deadly weapon, assault and possession of a controlled substance.
The investigation remains active, and no further details are currently available.
