Libby Public Schools will remain closed on December 18 and 19, which were its last instructional days of 2025.
School will resume again after the winter break.
LIBBY, Mont. – Libby schools will close on Wednesday, December 17 due to anticipated severe weather conditions, according to a social media post from Libby Elementary School.
“Forecasts are calling for increased rainfall and strong winds throughout the evening and possibly during the day,” Libby Elementary said. “The combination of heavy precipitation and saturated ground has raised concerns about unstable trees and overall safety for students and staff.”
The school said further updates would be shared as needed.
