Lewiston driver dies in single-vehicle crash on Juniper Drive

LEWISTON, Idaho – A single-vehicle crash on the 2900 block of Juniper Drive resulted in the death of a local man late on January 29, 2026, according to a press release from the Lewiston Police Department.

The incident occurred around 11:35 p.m. when a red 2004 Saturn Vue, driven by Jack Caldwell, 49, left the road on the west side and struck a tree. Officers and fire personnel responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures.

Caldwell was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Lewiston Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Team is conducting an investigation into the accident. Juniper Drive was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation.
