LEAVENWORTH, Wash. – Visit Leavenworth and the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce have announced that the city’s holiday activities will continue despite recent severe weather.
The “Village of Lights” has been restored and illuminated, and “Christmastown” will proceed as planned for the rest of the holiday season.
Crews began work on Sunday, December 14, to restore the Front Street Park trees, which sustained less damage than expected. By Monday, visitors were welcomed back to enjoy the festivities.
Live holiday entertainment will also continue at the Festhalle Auditorium. Troy Campbell, Executive Director of the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce, expressed gratitude for the restoration efforts.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the crews and agencies who worked tirelessly to restore power to Leavenworth fully,” Campbell said. “Seeing the town glowing again is a meaningful moment for our community, our local businesses and for everyone who cherishes Christmastown as part of their holiday traditions.”
Officials have advised visitors to check road conditions before traveling, as cleanup efforts continue on the area’s roads.
The Village of Lights will remain illuminated every night through the end of February for those unable to visit before Christmas.
