Law enforcement in Gallatin County looking for suspect after calling off initial search

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Law enforcement are still looking for a suspect that ran off on foot after having to call off the initial pursuit Thursday morning.

Around 6:18 am, the Gallatin County Sheriff’s office and Montana Highway Patrol were looking for a person around mile marker 63 on Highway 191 who is wanted for a non-violent misdemeanor and fled on foot after being arrested.

According to the sheriff’s office, a K9 unit and drones were used to try and find the suspect, however, the search was called off due to dangerous terrain and weather conditions.

Law enforcement will be increased in the area while they continue to look for the suspect.

The sheriff’s office reports the suspect is not known to be armed or dangerous, however, people are asked to report any suspicious activity in the area.
