Large shop building fire threatened homes in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Firefighters in Spokane Valley stopped a shop fire from spreading to nearby homes on Friday afternoon.

According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, the fire happened around 3:30 p.m. on East 24th Avenue.

When crews arrived, firefighters found a big fire coming from all sides of the large shop building. SVFD said crews worked to attack the fire, which was threatening nearby homes and outbuildings.

The fire was able to be contained to the shop.

SVFD said more information will be released as it becomes available.
