COLBERT, Wash. – A weekend party at a foreclosed home in Colbert drew as many as 200 partygoers, neighbors report.
SCSO confirmed with NonStop Local that two individuals at the party, including a Juvenile residing there, were charged with a misdemeanor for second-degree animal abuse due to poor living conditions without food and water.
On the night of the party, several neighbors placed calls to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO). Neighbor Andrew Jones watched the events unfold from his security cameras.
“It’s about 10:30 at night,” Jones said. “I can’t recall exactly, but they came in hard, lights and sirens” Jones said.
Jones recalled that when law enforcement arrived, the scene quickly turned to chaos.
“I could hear them screaming and yelling and jumping over the next fence,” Jones said.
The aftermath of the party, Jones said, still visible in his and his neighbor’s properties.
“They’re just throwing their trash everywhere,” Jones said. “Beer cans and all that kind of stuff.”
NonStop Local heard reports of a teen being hit by a car, but when contacting SCSO, while they heard similarly, no victim had came forward.
They did confirm that the party site, a Colbert home, is currently undergoing foreclosure. Court documents show the homeowners filed for bankruptcy in 2025. A juvenile living at the residence threw the party, according to SCSO.
NonStop Local visited the residence but was unable to contact the homeowners. However, A U-Haul was parked in front of the home, and new no-trespassing signs were posted.
As for damage after the party, one neighbor reports tire marks in her lawn, while Jones says his fence has been damaged.
“The amount of people climbing over my fence literally leaned the fence over to about 30 degrees,” Jones said.
According to the SCSO, the Juvenile has been released back to his parents. The charge of 2nd degree animal abuse is a misdemeanor.
