
CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. – State fire assistance has been mobilized to support local firefighters in containing the Labor Mountain Fire near Peshastin, according to Deputy State Fire Marshal Amy Thorton.
Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized this mobilization on September 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., following a request from Fire Chief Andy Lee of Chelan County Fire District 6.
The Labor Mountain Fire, which ignited on September 1, 2025, has grown to an estimated 25,327 acres. The blaze is burning through brush and timber, posing threats to homes and infrastructure.
Evacuation levels 1, 2 and 3 are currently in effect as the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The State Emergency Operations Center at Camp Murray is active at Level 2, providing coordination for state assistance. Three strike teams have been ordered by mobilization specialists from the Fire Protection Bureau to aid containment efforts.
Personnel from the State Fire Marshal’s Office are en route and working remotely to manage resource dispatch.
