Kristi Noem announces body cameras for Minneapolis enforcement

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced that all officers in Minneapolis will be equipped with body cameras.

Noem made the announcement on social media, stating that the decision comes after scrutiny over actions by federal immigration enforcement agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement, during a recent enforcement surge in Minneapolis. The scrutiny intensified following the shooting deaths of two U.S. citizens.

Noem mentioned that body cameras will be distributed to agents nationwide once funding becomes available.
